It is so precious to know and understand that we can rest in God. He is our constant, our fortress and in Him we find peace. The Bible speaks of the greatness of the Lord’s love and the safety and security we have in him. It’s so beautiful knowing that we can hide under his wings, there we find refuge it is our safe place. Understanding that it is the Almighty God, the most high and powerful God that takes care of us is mind blowing.

This song is written as if it is God singing over us. It’s such a wonderful thing that God truly does sing over us and takes great delight in us. The thought of Him doing this warms my heart so much. If we truly are still and know that He is God, comprehending who He is and how much He loves us is an incredible gift. 

Psalm 46 v 10-11 (NIV) He says, ”Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

 Psalm 91 v 4 (NIV) He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

 Zephaniah 3 v 17 (NIV) The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but rejoice over you with singing.
